We were headlining Tavistock Summer Solstice festival last night and arrived at about 8pm to find that it had already been raining for 24 hours and everything was a wee bit wet. The rain alternated between drizzle and total downpour! Nice!We had a couple of beers and watched the bands before us but we couldn't help but think how many more people there would have been if it had been better weather.
We were due on at 11.30 but times had slipped throughout the day so we didn't get on stage until 12.30am. The organisers had hoped to let us play our full set but at 1am we were told we had 15 minutes left to play - the police were nearby and would enforce the music licence.
So, we were a bit sad not to play our full set but glad we could reward the people who turned out for the festival who were impressively mad to stand in that much rain.
Well done to Steve for organising it, and big thanks to the sound guys who did a great job swapping the bands over.
