The REOFFENDERS

Punk Rock: Classic and Modern

The REOFFENDERS are on an indefinite break. Never say never, but we currently have no plans to play. However, we had joy and we had fun... and we blogged about it. Enjoy reading and reliving some good times.

We Love Weston!

Earlier in the year, we played at the Rock Gardens in Weston Super Mare which at the time was quite a new venue. We had a great time and have been really looking forward to going back again.

It's a huge place, holding a capacity of 500 people. There's lots of signed guitars and drum skins decorating the walls and with an inhouse PA, lights and a stage its a delight to play there.

We were supported by Sienna, a Birmingham band who were planning on sleeping on the beach afterwards. Did you notice how cold it was last night? Rather them than me!

We had a good mix of people of all ages and backgrounds. Sometimes you see metal heads or rude boys in the audience and you think, "Oh god, we're doing Ricky Martin next... they'll hate it" until you see them pogoing like nutters to it. It's a lovely sight and a great feeling when you know they're sharing your joke.

The Rock Gardens was a huge contrast from Teignmouth the night before where I had a square of floor to stand on and couldn't really move without getting a mic stand in the face of a cymbal stand in the back. Here we had lots of room to move about and really go mad. Katie had a drum riser which obviously begged for Hoover and Indesit to jump off. We're just big kids really ;-)

Thanks again to Darren at the Rock Gardens for having the faith in us. Also to our Alan, Merv and our growing band of followers there... we'll see you soon.

Lastly, it was amazing to see Joe and the gang there! I think seeing us in Falmouth, Lyme Regis, Hayle and Weston Super Mare definitely wins the prize for most travelled fans! We'll have to start awarding you band air miles!
